Seven years ago, Lalith thaththa, Bro Jagath and Bro Raja came to Singapore to buy equipment for the Wednesday meeting and they stayed at our home. During their stay, Lalith Thaththa suggested that we spend an evening in prayer. I took the opportunity to invite some of my friends from church. We could not explain what happened then, but now we know it was the presence of God that touched us in our depths and our family has not been the same. Suddenly we were on fire for Him, we wanted more of this experience and we wanted more people to have it. With two other families we started listening to a recorded message of the Wednesday meeting in our living room every week. Even though we had the desire to bring this experience to others we were stuck by limited resources.

In 2008 when CRL Melbourne was organizing a Four Steps retreat, they made it possible for the team to stopover in Singapore for a few days. In November 2008 an English Four Steps Retreat and a Sinhala Four Steps Retreat with a Tamil translation were conducted at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. With that, more people were touched, and more people wanted to continue in the experience. That opened the doors of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes for CRL Singapore to conduct weekly meetings. As of 2017, the meetings have shifted to the Franciscan Parish of St. Mary of the Angels.

At present we facilitate a meeting (conducted in English) every Tuesday at 7:45pm onwards. A video of that week’s Wednesday message is shown during the meeting and we participate in the same worship. Even though they are pre-recorded videos we have seen lives touched and transformed, healings, and people entering into deeper journey with the Lord. At present the numbers vary between 40 and 50.
