The Risen Lord Community – Sri Lanka, through the grace of God, set its foot for the first time in North America on February 7, 2009 forming the CRL-Toronto Branch promising a journey that would lead people into the Heart of God. The very first meeting took place in Brampton (A north western suburb of Toronto) when Bro. Lalith Perera addressed a crowd of around 30 people via SKYPE. Thereafter, the team in Toronto under the guidance of our Lord Jesus Christ organized the first visit of CRL-Sri Lanka to Toronto in 2010 and every year thereon by God’s providence and grace Bro. Lalith and team have been able to visit Toronto to conduct retreats in Brampton, Toronto, Scarborough, Mississauga and Hanover, bringing many souls closer to God. Through the leading of the Holy Spirit the frequency of our prayer meetings has increased from monthly to bi-weekly. Therefore, currently our prayer meetings are held every second and fourth Saturday of each month in Toronto. Many who are broken in sin come back to God through the power of Praise and Worship, Intercessory Prayer, Adoration and The Holy Rosary.

In 2012, the Archdiocese of Toronto invited Bro. Lalith Perera and the CRL team to speak at the 9 preparatory novenas and the Pentecost rally in Toronto through which many hearts were touched by the power of God. In addition, CRL conducted its retreats for the polish and the Indian communities in Toronto and for a German community in Hanover, a small farming town north of Toronto.

One of the flagship retreats which CRL-Toronto encourages is the 4-Step retreat. Through this retreat, God invites us to come before Him just the way we are and reflect on our sinfulness and to find redemption through the sacrificial Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. This retreat helps us to learn how to live a surrendered life, filled in the power of the Holy Spirit. Many who followed this retreat found the break-through in life they were looking for.

Another flagship retreat of CRL is how to spend quiet time at the feet of Jesus. This retreat based on the 4-steps, provides the necessary tools to develop an enriching and wholesome relationship with God filled with power.
