CRL IN BRISBANE

The Community of the Risen Lord in Brisbane had very humble beginnings with just one family following the recorded Wednesday message from the internet every Friday at their home in June 2012. However as time went by, God sent various people from different walks of life to become part of the Brisbane community. This small community, continued to Praise and Worship God, and follow the live message on Skype from Bro. Lalith Perera every Friday at this residence. But as the group grew it became evident that we would need to move to a bigger venue soon and God just as he always does, provided a wonderful Church parish hall at, Graceville. But with time this hall too did not meet our needs, and with our second retreat in 2014 we were blessed to be able to move to the Christ the King Church where now we meet every Friday.

In July 2013 the Lord opened the way for a series of evening retreats and a 4-Step retreat to take place in Brisbane these was conduct by Bro. Jagath Nanayakkara and a team from Colombo and Melbourne. And in 2014 God opened the door for us to have our second 4-Steps retreat with Bro. Lalith Perera and team from Colombo. CRL Servers from the other states of Australia also helped in many ways for this retreat. These were blessed experience where God worked in such a way as to build up our Community while at the same time bring together people from many different parts of the world to do his works.

Following our second retreat the need for a youth and young adults meeting was keenly felt and as we prayed and waited upon the Lord he opened the doors and today a group of around 30 youth and young adults meet twice a month to interact with each other and build their faith.

On the 10th of August 2013 the Community of the Risen Lord, Brisbane was officially commissioned by Bishop Joseph Oudeman Auxillary Bishop of Brisbane as member of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal(CCR) Brisbane since then we take an active role in the life of the Brisbane CCR supporting it in whatever way possible.

God continues to lead the Brisbane community one step at a time, into his perfect plan, and we on our part feel humbled and privileged to be led by our Good Shepherd on the mission for which he has commissioned us here in Brisbane.

The Community of the Risen Lord in Brisbane meets every Friday at 7.30pm for Praise and Worship with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and live message from Colombo.
